The Wychwood Park neighbourhood in Toronto was originally founded in the late 19th century as an artist’s colony. This gated community was home to painter Marmaduke Matthews and Alexander Jardin, who designed the private neighbourhood.
Wychwood Park features irregular-shaped lots and a central park area. The homes in the area are mostly in the Arts and Crafts style, though a few homes were also designed by prominent architect Eden Smith, a resident of the neighbourhood. In total, there are 5885 homes in the Wychwood Park neighbourhood.
