The Hills of Headwaters includes; Caledon, Mono, Mulmur and Dufferin County. The town of Caledon was established in 1974 from an amalgamation of five municipalities including: the Townships of Albion, Caledon and Chinguacousy, the Village of Caledon East and the Village of Bolton. Caledon’s first settler soon discovered the area’s wealth of stone, sand, gravel and bedrock that could be extracted from the land. The stonework that is featured on Ontario’s Parliament Buildings and Toronto’s Old City Hall comes from Caledon quarries.
Caledon is a town in the Regional Municipality of Peel in the Greater Toronto Area located north-west of Toronto which is spread over 700 square kilometres.
