The Clanton Park Toronto area, originally known as Dublin Hewights, began as a farming hamlet in the early 1800s and was bought by William Duncan in 1827. Duncan had a significant impact on the area as he oversaw the early development of the community, from the first school built to opening the first general store and post office in 1854.
