Moore Park Toronto was subdivided in 1889 as an exclusive Toronto community by John Thomas Moore and was completely developed by the 1930s. The area is surrounded on all sides by natural barriers; Mount Pleasant Cemetery to the north, Park Drive Ravine to the south and the railway tracks, Moore Park Ravine to the east and Vale of Avoca Ravine to the west. The area is well known for its gourmet food shops and fine dining, parks and greenspaces that includes an eight kilometre trail passing through Rosedale Ravine and the old Don Valley brickworks. Transportation is also accessible to the area as the St. Clair subway station is within walking distance of many Moore Park Toronto homes.
Moore Park Toronto includes primarily English Cottage, Georgian and Tudor-style houses built between 1908 and 1930. There are also a fair number of townhouses built in the 1970s and 1980s and a growing number of new custom homes. The homes in the area generally have larger lots and mature tree canopies that line the streets, making this greenspace community a desirable one.
